The Groundz is set to host one of the Illawarra’s biggest country music events when STOMPING GROUNDZ is held at the precinct on Saturday, 2 May.

The family friendly large-scale event will feature an outstanding line-up of some of Australia’s biggest and most exciting country music artists alongside rising talent, delivering a full afternoon and evening of live music and entertainment.

Headlining the event are award winning country heavyweights The Wolfe Brothers, Casey Barnes and Travis Collins, joined by Max Jackson, Sara Berki, Liam Maihi, Maddison Glover and Tameka, along with a number of exciting emerging country artists.

Across more than 11 hours of live music and entertainment, with gates opening at 12pm, STOMPING GROUNDZ will transform The Groundz into a vibrant country music destination with line dancing, food trucks, animal displays and a range of attractions spread across the precinct.

The Groundz CEO Katrina Novak said the aim is to bring an elevated country music event to the Illawarra.

“This is the first significant country music event of its kind to hit the Illawarra,” Ms Novak said.

“The calibre of artists we’re bringing together is incredible. We’ve got award winning national acts alongside some of the most exciting emerging country artists in Australia, and we’re proud to bring that to the region.”

Ms Novak said the event will also support local businesses and the broader creative community.

“The Groundz has always been a place where the community comes together, and Stomping Groundz is a natural extension of that vision,” she said.

“We’re proud to create opportunities for local vendors, artists and businesses while bringing a major new event to the Illawarra.”

If the community gets behind the event, organisers hope it will grow into an annual country music event that attracts both locals and visitors and contributes to the local economy.
